Harley Quinn è una supercattiva e antieroina dei fumetti
americani, che compare comunemente come avversario del supereroe
Batman. Il personaggio è stato creato da Paul Dini e
Bruce Timm, e la prima volta in nella serie Batman: The Animated
nel settembre 1992. E' apparsa più tardi nei fumetti
di Batman DC Comics, la sua prima apparizione in un fumetto
in The Batman Adventures 12 (settembre 1993). Durante le sue
apparizioni nella serie a cartoni animati , sembra parlare con
un pronunciato accento newyorkese.
Il
personaggio è un complice frequente e fidanzata del Joker,
e una cara amica e socia eco-terrorista di Poison Ivy, che ha
vinto un'immunità ai veleni e tossine. La storia delle
origini di Harley Quinn riferisce che ha incontrato il Joker
mentre lavorava come psichiatra nel manicomio di Arkham, dove
il Joker era un paziente. Il suo nome è un gioco del
nome "Arlecchino", un personaggio della commedia dell'arte.
In
origine la voce di Harley Quinn è stata interpretata
da Arleen Sorkin in vari tie-in animato DC Universe, e anche
mettere la sua voce al personaggio Hynden Walch e Tara Strong
sia nella DC cartone animato o in diversi videogiochi. Nella
serie televisiva of Prey, è stata interpretata dall'attrice
Mia Sara (Sherilyn Fenn e una versione non emesso dell'episodio
pilota). Il personaggio ha fatto il suo debutto cinematografico
live-action nel film del 2016 Suicide Squad, interpretato dall'attrice
australiana Margot Robbie.
La
